Hispanic Heritage Month

Throughout the month of September we have shared our countries, cultures and heritage with our classes as we learn more about our teachers and classroom friends! Our infant and toddler classes dressed in traditional clothing from Latin America, and engaged in dances from Latin countries throughout the world. Our Early preschool classes have enjoyed learning of the Tapatio Dance from Mexico, with a visit from Ms. Alicia and her puppet friends! The children worked their gross motor skills as they danced along to the rhythm of the music. They finished the week with a pinata celebration!

Our preschool classes have learning of countries such as Colombia, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Nicaragua, Bolivia, El Salvador and Spain as they observe the flags from each country, and learn the history of the arts, creating paintings like Picasso and learning traditional dances such as the Flamenco. They also implemented weekly cooking dishes, such as tamales and tres leches cakes into the classroom as they enhance their STEM skills in their cooking creations, measuring ingredients, observing reactions and ensuring they have enough for each one of their friends, while learning of the culture and traditions from around the world.
