My name is Xochitl Castro and I am the Program Coordinator at WKA! I have been with WKA since 2015! Prior to this year, I taught in the Sweetpeas classroom for two years and before that in the Sunflowers class for two years. Throughout my life I have always been involved in the field of education. I spent two years teaching English in Madrid, Spain and before that was involved with Strong Women, Strong Girls, an organization based in Boston that provides extracurricular programming for young girls. Currently I am obtaining my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at GW while also interning at Community Connections, a not-for-profit mental health agency serving individuals experiencing homelessness and severe mental illness.
Outside of my work, I enjoy cooking, exercising, and reading. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family! My family is originally from Mexico and I enjoy travelling to LA to see them as often as possible!
