What's Happening At WKA

Black History Month

At Whole Kids Academy, we strive to celebrate Black history all year long, as one of our core values is Celebrating the Individual.  During the month of February though, we are sure to be extremely intentional about celebrating and honoring the contributions that many African Americans have made to our country and our world.  In our classes, we are providing developmentally appropriate discussions and activities to help celebrate Black history.  Our children are engaging in discussions, listening to stories, and enjoying activities centered around Black history.

Our Kindergarten class has worked very hard this month on creating their very own Living Wax Museum.  They started by participating in a virtual tour of a wax museum to gain some background knowledge. melyik online fogadóiroda   Next, they each chose an influential Black individual that they connected with and researched them.   Then, after learning more about their individual, each Kindergartener created a backdrop for their presentation and an item that symbolized something their individual stood for. nyerőgépes játék ingyen   Today our Kindergarteners dressed up and gave a speech.  We are so impressed! We had an Olympian, a civil rights leader, an athlete, an astronaut, a dancer, and a singer in attendance at Whole Kids today for the museum! The Kindergarten class did an outstanding job showcasing the accomplishments of Black individuals and honoring their history and the ways they influenced and impacted our country. gaminator online
