Ms. Sonia was born and raised in El Salvador, Central America; both of her parents are from El Salvador as well. Sonia is a native Spanish speaker and enjoys working to expand her English each day.She graduated from El Salvador National University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Sonia worked as a clinical psychologist in El Salvador for several years before moving to the United States in 2016. She loves being able to combine what she learned working as a psychologist and a preschool teacher to best meet the needs of all of her students! Sonia has been married for 24 years and has a 23 years old daughter. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family and going on trips where she can connect with nature. She shares that her favorite children’s book is The Case of Lorenzo because it emphasizes accepting and valuing others regardless of their differences.

Sonia has been at Whole Kids Academy since 2018 as a member of our Infant & Toddler team. Her favorite part about working at Whole Kids is that it feels like a family to her. She shares that we are a community of professionals that always has the best interest of the children in mind and is honored to be part of that!
