Maria Claudina Pachas

Teacher

Maria was born in Valencia, Venezuela. She received a bachelor’s degree in law from Universidad de Carabobo and a specialization and master’s degree in labor law from Universidad Catolica Andreas Bello. Maria has worked teaching adults, teaching children, and volunteering in elementary schools. She eventually ended her career as a lawyer to pour everything into caring for her eldest son who was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. She dedicated her time to studying interventions and since then has been immersed in the education field. Maria went on to study at Montgomery College, completed the 90 Hour Child Growth and Development course, and recently received her Infant-Toddler Bilingual Child Development Associate National Credential from the Council for Professional Recognition. Maria is married and has two sons and an adorable toy poodle! In her free time, she loves to play with her children, watch movies, listen to music, read, and exercise. She shares that her favorite children’s book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? because it creates a rich learning experience of animal names, colors, and rhymes. In addition, it is her eldest son’s favorite book, and she remembers singing the words to help soothe him in tough moments.

Maria has been part of our WKA family since 2019! She shares that her favorite part about being at our school is the support from the staff, the smiles and hugs from the children, and the kindness from parents and families.
